- Stories and a review of children’s storybooks
- Videos/DVDs on the brain and developmental stages
- Discussion
- Family and educator resource materials

In this workshop parents, caregivers and educators are invited to explore how simple nature experiences enhance a child’s developmental skills and how, according to a recent report by the American Academy of Pediatrics, simple outdoor activities are essential for the health of all children.
Together we will plant seeds, experiment with bubbles and watch videos/DVDs. Each of these experiences will be linked to appropriate children’s stories and picture books. There will be an opportunity to share information and ideas about how simple nature experiences help children develop pre-reading, pre-math and social skills, based on standard guidelines for what children need for a successful kindergarten experience. |
This two-hour workshop is designed to be presented at your location, and can include additional material and focus addressing the specific needs of your participants.
Each attendee leaves our workshops with a useful portfolio of resource materials that include developmental resources, bibliographies and activity guides. |
